Camden is Blooming

Loads of stuff happening in Camden, Maine for Mother’s Day Weekend, like Birchwood opening up for season sixteen (what?!). Take advantage of our early bird rate – just $99/night*, stay two nights or more and take $20 off your stay.

There’s also sidewalk and retail shop sales; schooner rides – I hear Schooner Surprise and Schooner Olad are offering a Mother’s Day weekend only special price of $20/person! – opening day for Camden Farmer’s Market and other events like wine pairings, brunches, and baking classes.

May is also the month for plant sales. Avena Botanicals Annual Mother’s Day event  is a highlight. Organic perennials by Rebel Hill Farm and organic vegetable and flower seedlings by Villageside Farm are for sale. Deb Soule will guide a garden tour from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm to speak about medicinal herbs and pollinators. There is always something new to learn there each time I visit. A $7 donation is suggested for the tour.

Make sure to first stop in on Friday at our Camden Chamber of Commerce and pick up a free canvas bag (Note: Camden shops no longer offer plastic bags). Your bag will be filled with coupons, info, and fun stuff from local merchants.

A Mother’s Day weekend visit to downtown Camden offers the opportunity to check out several interesting new retail shops along Bayview Street, like Barefoot in Denim, Funky Farmhouse, and FatFace. Or see what’s new at other long time unique local businesses. Glendarragh LavenderTheo B. And if you can’t make it for Mother’s Day you have the whole season ahead of you to plan a trip. Just remember to book direct for the best rates, and extra special touches.
